这部同样隽永的传记片讲述了英国著名哲学家兼小说家爱丽丝·梅铎（Iris Murdoch）与夫婿约翰·贝利长达40年的深挚爱情故事。凯特和英国最伟大的女演员之一的朱迪·丹琦（Judi Dench）分别在片中饰演这位被誉为“英国最聪明的女人”的青年和老年时代，青年爱丽丝清唱《澄空云雀》的那一段被安排在影片的结尾部分，导演希望观众们记住她创作力丰沛和热爱生活的样子。同样是清唱，但歌声比五年前的《理智与情感》里多了历练和厚重感，还有当初只能在艾玛·汤普森身上看到的大将之风。

然而这部电影却给人影响深刻,很值得一看.演员的表演十分精湛而味道十足;情节是温馨暖人的.在这样秋季看来让人心生暖流,感到世间真爱,即便秋天是萧瑟枯萎,而带着温暖的心意和力量,前方到来的还是繁花似锦的春天啊!
